The Concordia Neuroscience Society (CNS) is a student organization at Concordia open to any student with an interest in neuroscience. Join your peers for interesting conversations around fascinating TED talks and the latest neuroscience news. Gain leadership experience by becoming a CNS officer!
Concordia hosts the Delta in MN chapter of the national honor society Nu Rho Psi. Students who have completed at least 9 credits in neuroscience with a GPA of 3.5 or higher may join the honor society. Members can apply for travel and research grants. Dues are paid once for a lifetime membership.
Coordinated by the Dana Foundation, Brain Awareness Week is a global educational phenomenon celebrated in K-12 schools, colleges, and universities annually in mid-March. Each year the Dana Foundation sets a theme for Brain Awareness Week. Student organizations are encouraged to host community events highlighting research and therapeutic developments in the theme area.
With generous support from Concordia alumni Howard, Sonia, LaVern, and Lois Nornes, each year Concordia hosts a nationally recognized neuroscience researcher who engages with students, faculty, and staff on campus and gives a keynote presentation that is free and open to the public. Networking at this event has led to incredible internship opportunities for Cobbers.
