Dr. Chloe Erikson is a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Dr. Marisa Roberto at Scripps Research in La Jolla, CA. Her research aims to understand how chronic alcohol exposure changes the way the stress system functions in the brain, with a particular focus on a brain region called the cerebellum that is highly understudied in the addiction field. She found that chronic alcohol exposure disrupts stress-related brain signaling in this region, suggesting it may play a bigger role in addiction that previously thought.
